On Monday evening AIFC2013 started under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the National Security Advisor, Vice-chairman of Abu Dhabi Executive Council, and the First Deputy President of Al Ain Club and Honorary Board.
The opening ceremony came simple and elegant and was attended by Sheikh Abdullah Mohd Khalid S Al Nahyan, Al Ain football company board chairman, Sheikh Zayed bin Tahnoun bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, Zaeem of Al Emirates deputy honorary president, H.E. Rashid Mubarak Al Hajeri, head of the higher committee and Al Ain football company board deputy chairman, H.E. Mohammed Obeid Hamdoun, Al Ain football company board member, and the AIFC2013 manager.
The ceremony started by playing the national anthem of the United Arab Emirates and followed by reciting some verses of Quran by the young player Ammar Jamal, Al Ain academy player.
The head of the higher committee, Rashid Mubarak Al Hajeri announced the kick of AIFC2013 wishing all success to all teams and later helium purple balloons were set off in the stadium horizons at Al Ain Club.
Al Ain beat Al Riffa 2-0 in the first match of AIFC2013 at Khalifa bin Zayed Stadium. the first half was over 0-0 and later Faraj Juma 71’, and 83’ scored for Al Ain.
This victory gives Al Ain the first three points to be on top until the end of the second match of the first round.
Al Ain seemed attacking from the beginning which obliged Al Riffa to retreat back to defense. Sultan Al Ghaferi sent a kick from the box but hit one of the defender of Al Riffa and moved out 10’.
Khalifa Al Wahshi lost a chance of a real goal when he received a cross from Bandar Mohd 24’. The guest made their first attack by Mahmoud Al Mawas who kicked the ball low to find the goalkeeper Khalid Issa 29’.
The coaches of the team made some substitutions to control the match; Ahmed Abdullah, Al Ain coach, made nine substitutions as follows: Mahmoud Al Mas, Fahad Juma, Saqr Mohd, Abdullah Al Shebah, Saeed Musabeh, Hamad Al Meri, Rayan Yaslam, Ahmed, Sahil, and Saleh Khalfan, instead of Khalid Essa, Mohd Ayed, Sultan Al Ghaferi, Khalifa Al Wahshi, Mohd Al Saedi, Ahmed Al Shamisi, Sultan Nasser, Faraj Juma and Bandar Mohd.
Al Riffa coach made 10 substitutions as follows: Saad Al Qubaisi, Abdurrahman Mubarak, Abdullah Mubarak Khamis, Hassan Fareed, Issa Ali, Mohd AbdulWahab, Salaman Ahmed, Mohd Saad, Ahmed Jalal, and Salman Mallah Bakhsh.
Al Ain showed priority due to the coach plan and they intensively attacked through Faraj Juma 18 who headed a cross and scored 71’.
And later he added the second goal from a pass sent by Ahmed Al Shamisi to face the GK and score 83.
